The beginning.....

Spending a week home sick with the flu is not my favorite way to take a vacation! However, I did have plenty of time to think about a lot of things while I was laying around, searching for energy to get up to the couch.  Thanks for all of you who brightened my week with Twitter and Facebook messages!
One thing that really made me smile was a message from my beautiful friend, Angela Poor, about next year's Fashion in Salvation show.  She had set a date and wanted me to help update the facebook fan page with photos from this year, and put the planning meeting on my calendar.  I'm so excited to be a part of this event again!  Make sure to save January 30, 2010 for what is sure to be another fabulous show! I want to share some information about the show and some of my favorite photos of the event!
The Fashion in Salvation page describes the event like this:
"Fashion in Salvation is a show that was inspired by the love of God to bring together a community to join together in supporting our homeless men, women and children. Along with keeping our youth off the streets. Beyond that, to join together in unity. In the cut throat industry that we are in, we need to realize that competing only hurts us. When we join together and support ech other, only then do we really succeed. The fashion world is big enough for us all. To do it God's way, to care about our neighbor, is a much better plan. Besides, what is more fashionable than God?"
For me, Fashion in Salvation was a chance to see what can be accomplished with some determination and a lot of faith.  A fashion show in a huge, old train station in need of renovation, with no heat, electricity, or running water, in Nebraska in January?  I'm sure many people thought it was a crazy idea!  However, it all worked out fabulously, and the event was a success.  Proceeds were raised for local charities and relationships were formed that will last and lead to many future successes.  So many things can be said about the event, but I'll leave you with the photos to tell the rest of the story!

And....a few from the Show!!!
